If you are planning to participate in the Poster Session, you must submit a poster title when you register for the meeting.
Call for Posters
The Users' Executive Committee invites all scientists, researchers, post docs and students to submit posters for the Poster Session to be held during the Annual Users' Meeting. The poster will exhibit research that has been conducted in large part at an NSLS beamline(s), CFN facilities, and/or as part of the NSLS-II project. Please note there is limited display space and there is a chance that some posters may not be able to be accepted. Multiple entries by the same author are not permitted.
Post docs and students may enter their poster(s) in the Poster Contest. Cash prizes will be awarded, and the winning posters will be exhibited in the NSLS Facility Lobby after the close of the Users' Meeting and Workshops.
Posters should no larger than 3' wide by 4' high, using PORTRAIT orientation. DO NOT EXCEED THIS SIZE. Easels cannot accommodate larger sizes or landscape orientation. The poster must be contained on one sheet of paper or poster board. If the poster is laminated, please do not double laminate.
All illustrations, charts and textual material to be posted must be prepared in advance of the meeting. Duplicating and graphic arts facilities will not be available during the Meeting.
Posters must have a title with lettering at least 1-1/2" high. Below the title, list the names of the poster authors and their affiliations. Ensure the poster is legible from a distance.
Poster Set Up
All posters must arrive for setup at Berkner Hall between 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, or between 7:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 21. A supply of push pins and velcro will be available in the poster set-up area. Matte board and poster board will not be available. Entrants are responsible for their posters and should be available during the Poster Session to answer questions about their work.
The Poster Session will open Monday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. and close Wednesday, May 23, at 12:00 p.m. It will be located in close proximity to the vendor instrumentation/equipment exhibit and food. On Monday, May 21, author presentations for odd numbered posters will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and even numbered posters from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A contest for post docs and students will be held. To be eligible for the contest, the poster must be exhibit research work conducted primarily at the NSLS, CFN and/or NSLS-II. The first author listed on the poster must be a post doc or student, and this person must be a registered attendee of the Annual Users' Meeting. Cash prizes will be awarded. Judging will take place by an ad-hoc committee of the Users' Executive Committee and will take place during Monday evening's session. Presenting authors must be present during the time indicated above. Award winners will be posted on Tuesday morning and awards will be presented at Tuesday's morning Plenary Session.
The winning posters will be removed by the Poster Coordinator for placement in the NSLS Facility Lobby. All other poster materials must be taken down by 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 23.
